Chocolate-Orange Ganache Tartlets
These tarts are unbelievably rich and decadent! Oh My Goodness, I am in heaven!
When I was creating the recipe for my Chocolate Orange Truffles, I made this amazing Ganache like sauce. It was so good just on its’ own; I knew I would have to turn it into something special. I found these 4 little tartlet pans at a local shop and set out to create chocolate – orange bliss in the form of a tart-let!
I was also stuck with a dilemma; which recipe to enter into Fork and Beans V-Day Bake off? Should it be the truffles or the tarts? The answer was both!
(Gluten free, Dairy free, Soy free, Nut Free, Sugar free)
Crust
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1/2 cup ground raw sunflower seeds
- 4tbsp Arrowroot flour
- 1/4tsp ground vanilla bean
- Pinch of sea salt
- 1tbsp maple syrup
- 2tbsp soy free earth balance
Filling
- 1/4Cup Sunflower Seed Butter
- 3tbsp maple syrup
- 2tbps apple butter
- 2tbsp coconut oil
- 2tbsp orange zest
- 3tbsp fresh orange juice
- 1/3 cup dairy free milk
- 1/4 tsp ground vanilla bean
- 1.5tspAgar agar FLAKES
- 2.5ozs dairy free chocolate (71% or 100%) (I used 10 squares)
Crust Instructions
- Whisk together the oat flour, sunflower seeds, arrowroot, salt and vanilla. Add the maple syrup and earth balance. Using a pastry cutter or potato masher, cut the earth balance into the flour until just combined into a dough.
- Preheat oven to 425F
- Prepare 4 tartlet pans (mine have the removable bottom)
- Using your fingers, press the dough into the bottom and sides of the pans and set on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10minutes
Filling Instructions
- In a small sauce pan, whisk together all of the ingredients except for the chocolate. Heat at a medium temperature until smooth and bubbly…Allow it to bubble gently for about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
- Chop chocolate into small pieces. Add to the slightly cooled mixture, and whisk smooth.
- Now place chocolate mixture into a blender or magic bullet and blend (just to smooth out the orange zest)
- Pour mixture into the 4 tart shells, and place into the fridge to set.

Hi Danielle –
your tarts look and sound fabulous! I assume any nut butter might be used – I might try this with cashew butter (or soaked cashews?. Love chocolate and orange.
Hi Melanie! Thanks so much
I bet cashew butter would work perfectly or any butter, just need that texture/consistency.
I have made my own cashew butter; before learning of our nut allergies. You can check it out here:
